Where do we obtain our dogs?
Dogs that are selected for training are obtained from animal shelters and rescue leagues, primarily in the United States. Many of these dogs are un-adoptable and would have to be destroyed. Dogs, meeting the entrance qualifications, are taken as donations from private owners. Some dogs are purchased through contract vendors.
What kind of dogs so we use?
We use Labrador Retrievers, Australian Shepherds, Belgian Malinois, .Beagles, and Jack Russell's all depending on the type of work to be done
What kind of certification does our dog teams have?
The Master trainer who is certified by Federal Department of Law Enforcement first certifies our teams. Additionally we have a internationally know third party certification of either Florida International University or Dr Myers of Auburn University Institute for Biological Detection Systems. Our canines all have micro chip implants for positive identification.
How are Detection dogs used?
Teams consisting of a dog and handler are used to screen aircraft cargo, baggage, mail, ships, buildings, vehicles, and passengers.
Different dogs are selected for different jobs depending on their natural skills, instincts, and temperaments, A wide variety of training methods and rewards are used in our detection dog program as well.
